We were established in 1920 at London's Tottenham Court Road, then as now, the Mecca for the electronics world in the UK.
The founding partners, Messrs. Harris and Russell, parted company early on but Alfie Harris continued with his venture. The business was originally grown out of Alfie's interest in precious metals and from a contract with Great Western Railways he was able to obtain used light bulbs for their platinum elements. So from recycled bulbs to the Wireless, came the beginning of the Radio industry, from cat's whiskers, coils, valves, capacitors and transistors to the first black and white televisions. Alfie's commitment and dedication enabled him to establish a successful business supplying electrical goods.
Suceeding Alfie came his son Cecil and then grandson, Russell. With them arrived ITV, colour broadcasts, BBC2, Teletext, Reel to Reel and Cassette Tape Recorders, Betamax and Video 2000, CD, DVD, BSB Squarial and Sky Satellite, FST, Widescreen, True Flat Tubes, DVD, DVD Recorders, Freeview, Plasma and now LCD Flat Panel TV and High Definition!
